For more than 25 years, Jamie has walked alongside many families, youth and children, individuals and couples from diverse walks of life. He has engaged individuals from a range of different cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, diverse walks of faith, mental health concerns and learning challenges throughout Toronto, the GTA, and Internationally.
Jamie enjoys working with individuals around issues of power and control in relationships to help them gain a better understanding of their preferred Self. More recently, he has been engaged with couples managing relationships from pre-marital to high-conflict concerns. He has also, been involved with men helping them to understand the impacts of abuse on the self and in their relationships. Moreover, collaboratively co-creating and exploring the meaning of different challenges in life, has been a passion to help others better enjoy their quality of living professionally and personally.
With an integrative, client-centred approach, Jamie’s experience in counselling modalities and theories includes but is not limited to, narrative, solution focus, cognitive behaviour, focusing, motivational interviewing, family systems and strategic, grief and trauma-informed, emotionally focused couples, ENRICH couples, and sex therapy.
Jamie holds a Child & Youth Worker Diploma, BA in Philosophy (Hons.), Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling, and is attaining his MD in pursuit of Psychiatry. He is affiliated with CAMFT, CCPA, AASECT, CRPO, and ACTA.
In his spare time, Jamie loves to travel with his wife, and take outdoor walks with their dog, try new food, have fellowship with family and friends, listen to music, and play video games.
